Toxic Politics: China’s Health and Governance In Crisis
December 16, 2020 @ 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
In his new book, “Toxic Politics,” Yanzhong Huang, professor and director of Global Health Studies at Seton Hall University, will discuss how China’s environmental crisis is undermining public health and becoming an Achilles heel in its reemergence as a global power.
Huang presents new evidence of China’s deepening health crisis and challenges the widespread view that China is winning the war on pollution. He reveals a political system that is remarkably resilient but fundamentally flawed and examines the implications for China’s future, both domestically and internationally. The talk will be moderated by Professor Michael Davidson.
