The Past and Future of Political Reform in China

30 years on, activist Wang Dan reflects on the pro-democracy movement in 1989 and discusses prospects of reform of the Chinese Communist Party in the context of political corruption and social tensions, in a conversation with Professor Victor Shih.
Wang Dan is a leader of the Chinese democracy movement and was one of the most visible student leaders in the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. He holds a Ph.D. in history from Harvard University.
